This Privacy Policy discloses the online privacy practices for the Legacy Foundation of Tompkins County ("Legacy Foundation") and applies to the information collected through this site. By accessing and/or using the Site, you are consenting to the collection, storage, and disclosure of data as described in this Privacy Policy.

The Legacy Foundation reserves the right, at any time, to modify, alter, update, or remove portions of this Privacy Policy. We will post any changes to this Policy on this page so you can readily review the most current version. We will alert you that changes have been made by indicating at the bottom of this Privacy Policy the date it was last updated.

Your IP Address: An Internet Protocol (IP) address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer every time you browse the Internet. When a user requests a page from the Site, our servers log the user's current IP address. We use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our servers and to administer the Site.

Cookies: The Site is developed using Active Server Pages (ASP), and we use per-session "cookies" (pieces of data your browser stores in your computer's memory at the Legacy Foundation's request) to establish user sessions on our server. We use this information to carry information about usage from page to page through the Site.

Most browsers are set up to accept cookies, but you can usually change your browser settings to refuse them. The Legacy Foundation does not use cookies to retrieve personal information about you from your computer. If you disable cookies, your browser may experience some erratic behavior on some portions of the Site.

Grant Applications: When you apply for a grant through the Site, you will provide a variety of information regarding your organization and your grant request, including, without limitation, your organization's name, focus, address, phone number, financial history, tax identification number, and the purpose for which you intend to use the grant. All or any part of the information we collect during the application process is referred to in this Privacy Policy as "Application Information." When you apply for a grant through the Site, your application will be processed in part through a third party software provider who will also have access to the Application Information and is not subject to the terms of this privacy policy.

Disclosures to Third Parties: The Legacy Foundation does not accept any information provided through the Site on a confidential or proprietary basis. From time to time, therefore, the Legacy Foundation may disclose such information, including, without limitation, your Application Information, to third parties. For example, the Legacy Foundation may disclose your Application Information to other grant makers, to organizations of grant makers, and to personnel of our affiliated companies who are furthering the charitable purpose of the Legacy Foundation. In addition, if we make a grant to your organization, we may disclose your Application Information to the public by, among other things, identifying you as a Legacy Foundation grantee and describing your use of the grant. The Legacy Foundation does not sell or rent your Application Information to third parties.

Disclosures for Legal Reasons: The Legacy Foundation will also disclose information you provide through the Site, including but not limited to Application Information, when it believes, in its sole discretion, that the law requires such disclosures or in the good-faith belief that such action is necessary to: Comply with the law; Protect and defend the rights or property of the Legacy Foundation or others; or Act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of the public or the users of the Site.

Links: This Privacy Policy applies only to information collected through the Site. Other Web sites (including those that we may link to or use for processing of applications) may have their own policies. The Legacy Foundation has no responsibility or control over the information-collection practices of such third parties.
